Recently this conversation actually took place at a local medical doctor’s office:
Dr: How are you doing today?
Nurse #1: Good. Except I have this pain between my shoulder blades that won’t go away.
Dr.: Has anything helped?
Nurse #1: Yes, my son takes care of it.
Dr.: Oh, is he a chiropractor?
Nurse #1: No, he’s a police officer.
Dr.: Hmm.
Have you ever had a similar conversation like this?
There are specialists in nearly every aspect of life. There are IT specialists for when your computer or network is on the fritz, mechanics to help when your car needs a little work done, and, of course, chiropractors to see when your back needs to be realigned. I don’t know many people who would feel comfortable with me looking under the hood of their car and for the life of me I cannot figure out why someone would be comfortable with a police officer making sure their spine is in proper alignment.
At the end of the day, by seeking the help of a trained specialist, you will get the best results and your body (or computer or car) will remain functioning better for a longer period of time.
